Here are my first round of sketches for my ideas. I’m definitely digging some of these ideas I’ve come up with, I just need to pick a couple directions to move forward with.

I’m wanting to portray the Tuscan motto of “Simplicity in food and life!”, while keeping things light and fresh to represent the quality of Bertolli products. I’m thinking that I want to use a mix of printed ink, drawn ink, and water color for the imagery & text. Probably using the watercolor just for the imagery, but I think that would look really nice for the style I want to go for, while also recalling the fluidity of the Italian landscape (seas!) and handmade character of their pastas. Color-wise, I’m picturing lots of light, white space with the beautiful contrast of black found in ripe olives and pops of colors that resemble the vibrancy found in fresh vegetables and unripe olives.
