I’ve always wanted to create my own blog. I mean, I’ve had a Tumblr before, but it was mostly just me re-blogging posts from various bloggers (and by posts, I mean lots of random things that I found funny, photos of my interiors that I want in my future home, various gifs of dance moves I wish I could do, and beautiful foods I want to consume).
This time, I’m the creator. This time, you get to see into my thoughts. Which will probably be pretty scattered and definitely eccentric. But I guess that as an artist… that’s the norm. I’ll post more later, but here’s just a little something for now.
And by a little something, I mean here’s a picture of me with my roommate’s cat, Mika. And although I’m allergic to cats, I love them way too much (but not nearly as much as those people who had their house raided in Kansas and was found with 80 cats and a couple dogs).
According to my Western Thought professor, that makes me a masochist. I’m sure it influences my design process somehow. Actually, upon further contemplation I’m pretty sure it does influence the design process. Because being a designer is a pretty masochistic career, we willingly stepped onto this path in which we will probably never sleep again and also subject ourselves to rushed deadlines for the rest of our existence. But in the end, we have spent this time on something that matters. Instead of spending our days attempting to obtain material items that may or may not actually bring a sense of fulfillment and pleasure, we achieve success and feel connected to something larger than ourselves. I’d say that’s the real reason we inhabit this earth.
See? What did I tell you? Scattered thoughts. I’m done now. Good night, world.
